Title:
who can do what in Ohio?
Text:
Hello List
I am looking for some plain language information (or as close to plain
language as is possible) concerning the current state of the legal provision
of orthotic and prosthetic services in the state of Ohio.
I understand what it takes to become licensed in Ohio and that a licensed
practitioner can provide the applicable service.
What services can an ABC or BOC practitioner who is not licensed in Ohio
provide? Are there levels of supervision as in the ABC scope of practice
policies applied?
What services can licensed physical or occupational therapists provide under
their own licensure and scopes of practice? What about licensed physical
therapy assistants, physician assistants, certified orthopedic technologists?
I understand that nationally, the negotiated rulemaking process to determine
qualified provider language is ongoing. I am asking for opinion here, but
isn't it inevitable that people who already have some orthotic and prosthetic
services within their legal scope of practice, like physical therapists, will
continue to be able to provide those services?
All information will be appreciated.
