Dear Kamon,

I am also working in South est Asia (in Cambodia) and some orthopedic
component are effectively produced in the region.
The International Comity of the Red Cross is producing orthopedic component
in Phnom Penh (polypropilene techonlogy for prosthetic component, metal
joints for orthotic components and rubber feet).
Handicap International Belgium is sub-contracting a chinese private compagny
to produce rubber feet in Phnom Penh.
Veteran International is producing a rubber feet (also in Phnom Penh).

In Vietnam, China and Thaïland, some component were reproduced (PPP
technology and rubber feet).

Depending where you are working, some of these component are available on
the market but the original design were done by the three above named NGO.

Anyway, chinese market is really good in copy and some of the component
copied are as good as the original.

Do not hesitate to ask more details on technology used if you need.

Physical and social Rehabilitation Center Coordinator - Cambodia
