It seems as though the term CLAMSHELL is used universally to describe
both spinal and AFO bi-valve designs. My posting was in response to
whether it was necessary to obtain a more detailed Rx when this term was
written or if billing it as a bi-valve TLSO (which is what the term
means around here) matched the Rx. I guess the bottom line is that it's
always best to have that Rx match exactly rather than trying to explain
AFTER the fact (God forbid during an audit) that this is what it usually
means. According to my responses, this was not automatically assumed to
be a TLSO. Some use this term for LSO also. Thanks, everyone!
