According to OR Medicaid website
<URL Redacted>
< <URL Redacted>> the state is dropping
coverage of mental health, chemical dependency counseling, dental coverage,
and ALL medical equipment and supplies effective 1 Mar 03. See attached pdf
file. They are, however, retaining coverage for family planning? While
this may provide us allies in the fight to restore benefits, the truth of
the matter is that budget deficits at the state level are likely to have us
seeing more of this in the next few months, in many other states. We must
all keep our eyes open for this and do what we can to fight proactively
versus reactively.

Subject: O&P reimbursement in Oregon

I am sorry to report that the Oregon legislature no longer believes that
Orthotics and Prosthetics are important components of healthcare delivery.
They have made the decision to exclude their delivery to the poor and
unfortunate of our state. This is an outrage that is becoming all to regular
in our society. Is anybody having any luck lobbying against this assault on
the handicapped in other states? Does our society believe that it has no
responsibility for those who are less fortunate? Forest R Sexton CPO
