My name is Damon, and i've been lurking on this list
for well over a year now.

Currently, i am a mechanical engineer working in the
silicon valley, and while designing computers can be
interesting, it is neither fascinating nor terribly
personally rewarding. Whenever i think of these two
criteria for my career, designing prosthetics always
leaps to mind, but the problem is i know very little
about this field.

I would love to meet with individuals in the
california bay area who are either involved in working
with patients, designing prosthetics, or who are
educators related to this field. I am particularly
interested in the challenges of sports prosthesis, but
am quite fascinated by the whole profession. Of
course, e-mail correspondence is also quite welcome
from those farther away...

I've already helped a friend with a BK ride his bike
more successfully, but that was through altering the
bike, living with the constraints of the prosthetic.

If any of you can find the time to share your
knowledge with a curious engineer, or simply point me
to some useful information, i would be much
appreciative and lavish you with gratitude.

Thank you for your time,
-Damon
