What a delightfully erudite post. I agree wholeheartedly. Why would I not?
I can only add that ABC credentials are not nearly lofty enough to be held
up as the zenith as far as professional certifications stand. The orthotics
and prosthetics field has a long way to go before any can truly call
themselves professionals, regardless of the particular combination of
letters after their names.
It would behoove all concerned to build an educational and certifying
organization that does provide a uniform standard such that the highest
qualifications for the times are always being met. ABC credentials are
superior to BOC's and I don't think any could argue otherwise, but the
difference between a belly laugh and a guffaw isn't much to snicker about.
