Do you think a TEC would work...soft durometer...Tan
Wearforce or
Lycra...

We still make the original Fillauer 3-S liner for a
thinner liner.
Wayne Koniuk, CP , Siliconics, in San Francisco makes
a really soft
custom silicone liner as well.

We can help with your wrist disarticulation client!

A custom liner can be made in any thickness you or
your client wishes - we recommend approx. 1.5mm for
upper extremity cases. It can be of any colour (we
make highly cosmetic fingers, partial hands, partial
feet prostheses and colour matching is something we
constantly do). If your client is happy with the
colours of the Otto Bock swatches we can make the
liner to the colour # she likes. The edge of the
liner can be feathered for a more cosmetic transition
between the liner and her residual limb.

Note: because this is a recent amputation, is
shrinkage of the residual limb a concern?

We can integrate a distal connection plate into the
liner and recommend the 14A1 lock set for upper
extremities.

Lycra can definitely be added to the specific area on
the liner that you wish, if this helps with donning of
the prosthesis. If it is just for cosmesis - we would
prefer to colour the actual silicone.

Gel pads can be integrated into the liner and can be
customized to her extremely sensitive distal end -
again these can be made to any size, colour or
thickness. The gel pads are only placed in areas
where needed, and as a result the entire liner does
not need to be thick (the advantage of a thin liner is
a very cosmetic looking prosthesis).

Note: We have made W/D liners with the Otto Bock
threaded stud embedded in the distal end of the
liner and a passive hand is attached directly to
this.

Hope this info. helps and if you need anything else
....literature, costs etc, just call (800)665-3327

Dear Janette Morris,

We make custom cosmetic restorations and have dealt
with similar situations. However, as you know there
are never any exact parallels. Our products have the
liner as an intrinsic part of the restoration. The
socket and liner can be made from a softer silicone
than the normal fill. If you are interested please
contact us for more info.

Best regards,
Thomas Ferrone

Don't do a device before she is done shrinking.
Living Skin (Aesthetic
concerns) in NY have a retty good cosmetic prodct and
could probably
fit
without a socket
