University of Michigan Orthotic and Prosthetic Center has a long history of providing quality residencies for orthotic and prosthetic program graduates. We view the residency as an extension of one’s education, rather than a revenue producing job. The ramification of this is that the resident gets a structured, comprehensive residency that allows him/her to progress at a comfortable level. We are now accepting applications for an orthotic residency to begin in March, 2003.
Highlights of the program include:
Opportunity to rotate and learn from 12 certified clinicians
Opportunity to work at a large, out patient facility with a complete, onsite technical department.
Opportunity to work at a major acute care, teaching hospital, ranked 8th in the nation (US News and World Report), and affiliated with a nationally ranked medical school.
Opportunity to participate in clinics with physicians and other allied health staff
Support in developing your research project, access to the University’s Medical Library and to Internet resources, and encouragement and backing behind you to present your project at a national assembly.
Opportunity to focus on personal areas of interest in your residency
Regular monitoring of progress of your residency to insure a comprehensive experience with an end product of a confident and knowledgeable board-eligible clinician.
3 weeks vacation/sick package, 7 holidays off, health insurance free for resident (group rate for family), $1000 NCOPE fee paid by University of Michigan
If such a residency interests you, please visit our website at <URL Redacted>. There you can view an outline of the structure of the residency, get application information and requirements, and fill out and send in an application on-line. Or, if you prefer, please contact:
