Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the OPAF board of directors, I write with exciting news
about our organization, news that would not have been possible without
the generous patronage during the past year of the entire O&P community
and especially that of our founders, the American Orthotic and
Prosthetic Association (AOPA) ( <URL Redacted>, American Academy
of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) ( <URL Redacted>, and the
American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC)
( <URL Redacted>.
Thanks to everyone's support and guidance since OPAF's establishment
seven years ago, we can now plan our move from our current office to
modest new space in Washington, DC. We are excited that this arrangement
will place us in the very heart of the 501(c)(3) world where we will be
able to serve the entire O&P community more comprehensively. Situated
within walking distance of the Washington Council of Agencies
( http://www.wcanonprofits.org ) and the DC branch of the Foundation
Center ( http://www.fdncenter.org) , our new offices will enable us to
connect with more individuals beyond O&P and build new community
programs that will extend our mission, and therefore our representation
of the entire O&P community, in unprecedented ways.
Having signed our new lease, we anticipate the change before us to begin
within the next two weeks and be complete before October 1, 2002.
Beginning September 16, 2002, therefore, our new permanent mailing
address will be as follows:
Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistance Fund, Inc. (OPAF)
1666 K Street NW, Suite 440
Washington, DC 20006
We will forward our new phone number as soon as it is established. In
the meantime, please continue to reach me at (571) 431-0818 and Tamara
at (571) 431-0831. Our efax number will remain unchanged: (415)
534-1857, as will our web site ( http://www.opfund.org) , our central
email address ( <Email Address Redacted> ), and our individual email addresses
(Jeff - <Email Address Redacted> and Tamara - tnb@opfund,org). Thanks very much
for updating your files with our new mailing address.
Again, we appreciate everyone's support of OPAF and especially that of
AOPA, ABC, and the Academy, without which we would not have seen our
many recent successes in community program development. We hope that we
can continue to count on the O&P community for support in the future as
we grow in more thoughtful ways that will enable us to touch the lives
of many more individuals.
Should there be any questions or concerns about the news this
correspondence brings, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks again - everyone - for your kindness and generosity as we grow to
new heights for the benefit of the entire O&P community.
Sincerely and with all best wishes,
Jeff Reznick
