Ultraflex Systems, Inc. has an immediate opening for R&D Team Leader!
Successful candidate will lead, expand and empower our development team. Working with outside rehabilitation clinicians and researchers (Clinical/scientific, biomechanical engineers), candidate will focus team on defining relevant clinical needs and biomechanical design parameters to advance new product development - idea conception/reduction to practice, prototyping, testing/validation, clinical trials (safety, efficacy), manufacturing, regulatory (FDA, CE), market introduction and create and continually optimize all related systems (design validation, specifications/manufacturing documentation, intellectual property prosecution, project management, CAD/CAM, FEA and virtual prototyping/testing software and hardware).
Position Attributes Needed:
Education: BS/BA in biomedical, biomechanical, mechanical or electrical engineering required.
Training: Solid Works, Solid Edge or AutoCAD and FEA. Training in human motion analysis in a clinical or research setting and CAD/CAM for O&P a plus.
Experience: Minimum five years experience in leading a small team of R&D professionals (3-5) in the successful development and introduction of new proprietary orthotic, prosthetic or assistive technology a must.
Behavioral: Good at both technical details and big picture regulatory/market issues common in medical device product development. Has achieved high team productivity in applied research/engineering. Proven problem solving and conflict resolution skills between strong willed, sensitive and creative individuals. Player-coach attitude that commands both respect and results that are extraordinary and exceed the highest expectations of the patients we serve.
