Dear list, I have the unique and appreciated opportunity to assist a
physician in a Knee disarticulation amputation. He specifically is looking
for my guidance during the procedure for the best Prosthetic outcome. Thus
far I have suggested saving the patella and placing it distally between the
femoral condyles. I have also suggested shaving the lateral condyle reducing
the protusion and reducing distal lateral pressures. Any other suggestions
and reading materials/web sites would be suggested.
I have two weeks to obtain this information, all suggestions and input is
welcome and appreciated.
