I have a BE amputee interested in using a different style and/or
manufacturer for her glove. She is currently wearing the Real-flex
vinyl Realastic glove and a VO hand. Apparently, her last glove was
made with thinner vinyl than previous ones and wore out within a few
weeks. I am seeking longevity.

The second problem we have always had with gloves is the fact that the
wrist area of the glove is so tight that she is unable to don her hand
and twist it on without the glove entangling between the wrist unit and
hand. Her 20+ year old arm was not made by me and doesn't utilize a
quick d/c unit. Her hook is her primary TD. She is a BE and bilat. AK
and loves her 1930's style prostheses. The option of getting a new BE
(and smaller wrist) is not available. So, I must find a glove that will
better accommodate this large wrist. I have been heating and stretching
this area, but the glove memory often returns it to the tight original
fit.

Any suggestions?

Namaste.
