Hi Again
I would like to apologize to the list for my previous question regarding pricing and foot orthoses. As it has been pointed out by several people, this list is not a suitable forum for discussions of this nature. I guess my main feeling was this. As certified Orthotists I feel that we fabricate and dispense a superior product when compared to others. Now I don't want to start another flame war on who is the most capable of dispensing foot orthoses (or any other brace for that matter) but when I see a diabetic with rigid orthoses and poor trim lines suffering from pre ulcer skin conditions AND was charged far too much for these same orthoses I get a little bit steamed. My main point was that I am putting out a better quality product, providing a better service and apparently charging less than the other folks. I was attempting to see if others had had a similar experience. Oh, BTW, of course I've contacted the practitioner(s) when a client comes through my clinic in a poor fitting device not to criticize but to inform of more appropriate devices. This is not me trying to corner the market or price fix on foot orthoses.
Sorry for any confusion and thanks to all who provided information regarding the big picture on foot orthoses.
