APPARENTLY THIS POST WAS REJECTED BECAUSE IT WAS SENT
MULTIPLE TIMES ALTHOUGH I BELIEVED I ONLY SENT IT ONE
TIME. IM GOING TO DO THE SAME THING I DID BEFORE SO I
APOLOGIZE IF YOU GET MULTIPLES AGAIN. WE JUST RECENTLY
GOT SOME OF THESE DENIALS FOR RESIDENTS
OF AN SNF WHO WERE RECEIVING MED A BENEFITS. THIS EVEN
THOUGH THE THERAPISTS ORDERING THE DEVICE AND THE
BILLING DEPTS ASSURED US THE RESIDENTS WERE MED B AND
NOT PPS. ID LIKE TO ASSUME THIS IS INCOMPETENCE ON THE
PART OF THE NURSING HOME STAFF RATHHER THAN BELIEVE I AM
BEING OUT AND OUT LIED TO BUT THE END RESULT IS STILL NO
PAYMENT FOR THESE PTS TO US. OTHER THAN INVOICING THE
FACILITIES NOW (HA HA) DO WE HAVE ANY RECOURSE TO
DISPUTE THESE SINCE WE ARE ULTIMATELY DEPENDENT ON THE
INFO THE SNF GIVES US?
ALSO FIRST PROSTHETICS WERE INCLUDED IN PPS THEN REMOVED
NOW IM HEARING THEY ARE BACK IN-IS THIS TRUE? IF SO
SINCE WHEN?
LASTLY IVE HEARD RUMORS AOPA IS WORKING HARD TO GET O&P
EXCLUDED FROM PPS AND ONCE AGAIN MAKE THESE SERVICES
COVERED BY MED B EVEN FOR PPS PTS. ANY TRUTH TO THE
RUMOR THIS COULD BE AS SOON AS JANUARY 2003?
IF ANYBODY OUT THERE IS AS UNFORTUNATE AS WE ARE TO
DERIVE A GOOD PERCENTAGE OF THEIR REVENUE FROM PTS IN
NURSING HOMES AND KNOWS THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS
ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
