Here are the responses,
We purchased the
DUPLICONE SYSTEM some time ago. We have had moderate success at best.
The system does not flow as well as we had hoped and therefore does not
capture contour as well as is necessary. I feel part of the problem is
that the cone actually elongates sometimes as it is removed from the
socket. I tried cooling the cone even more but there is a fine line
between to cool and to warm. The cooler cone can be a real tug of war to
remove. I would be interested to see your post results on the list.

they are great ...what a neat discovery..saves alot of mess and
time..these guys should be patted on the back....I 've done about 10--all
have come out good looking..got to follow there instructions though..
They work very well. They make an amazingly detailed
reproduction if the socket interior.
I have used them twice, both with good result. I think they may send you a
sample. If the socket has undercuts or is bulbous you may need to use a
razor knife and bi-valve the mold. Both times the wearer said the fit is
identical.
They are cheap they work and are one of the true bargains that are in the
O&P field when you look at time and materials and outcome anyone that says
they can do it for less must not value there time.
P.S. We do not sell them so this is a unabashed approval.

Had some experience with them. You need to follow the directions to the T but they work quite well. I found if you cut the bottom of the cone off ( appox 1 of material it is easier to work with. That part doesn't seem to conform.

Didn't work for us very well.

After trying duplicating cones we found them less than ideal for s/c sockets
and more laber intensive than pouring alignate.

I have used them 3-4 times with duplicating BK sockets. It is a clean and easy way to duplicate. The
water temperature is critical If you are duplicating a socket with a locking mechanism, make sure to
plug the lock with duct seal or similar, and to tape the bottom so no water gets into the locking system.
Tried once with AK, didn't work out so well. Understand they are trying to work on a better system for
AK.
Good luck!
Any questions, you can call me at 414-778-4500

Yes I have and I prefer duplicating foam (OTTOBOCK).

We tried the dupli-cones about a year ago for a small adult transfemoral. The cones come in a few sizes and I believe if the size is more closely matched (than in our case) to the socket you are duplicating, it is effective, and rather simple. However, as in our case, and with our being novice at this procedure, the result was satisfactory, but time consuming. We also then spent some time thinking... how often do we really duplicate sockets(?) In our facility the number of duplications per year did not warrant the cost of the system nor the storage space required for the various cone sizes and resulting socket dup.'s. The plaster required to fill the socket is less expensive, and most of our patients don't mind waiting since it is a convenience to them NOT to have to go through the casting and test fitting regimen.
