Dear List,
I have been asked by a local business group to try to
gather some information from NY metropolitan O and
P'ers pertaining to billing netwroks and how they are
working for you and your practice. Such as how many
of you would like to join a network but are unable to
because the current ones are full in the area where
you have your practice. If so, how much would you be
willing to pay for such a service where billing and
obtaining authorizations is included...i.e. annual
dues and/or percentage of billable? What insurance
companies (HMO's and PPO's would need to be in the
network for you to want to join)? What are your
concerns or objections to join a network and any
suggestions you may have to design the network to make
improvements over some of the exisiting ones. If the
network also could use its buying power to offer you
discounts off goods purchased directly from the
network, would this interest you and if so, what
products or services would you like to see offered?
i.e. soft goods, custom orthosis, ots fracture braces
and central fab services. Please do not construe this
as a solicitation for a new network. It is simply a
way for this business group to use this forum to find
out how many of you would like to join a network and
how you would prefer it to be set up so that it could
benefit you and your practice. Please only O & P co's
in the metropolitan area respond directly to my e-mail
address as I am sure the rest of the country does not
want me to clog up this list service with information
that does not apply to them. Thank you in advance.

Francis X. Brandt, B.O.C.
