Healing Hands in Haiti had a very successful trip in February/March. During the 5 days we saw patients, we were able to do the following from our small, limited O & P lab:
2- below elbow prostheses
2- above elbow prostheses
3- below knee prostheses
4- Above knee prostheses
In addition, we took 5 AK casts which will modified and returned for fitting with the next prosthetic team.
Our success during our 5-day operation was made possible in part by donations given by the Barr Foundation, Ohio Willow Wood, Jim Smith Sales, and Kingsley Manufacturing Company. Thank you so much for helping our trip to be a success!
I tried to attach several pictures of patients we worked with during our week in Haiti, however the listserver has rejected them. You'll need to go to our website to see the photos. We invite any Orthotists, Prosthetists, Physiatrists, Physical & Occupational Therapists, and Rehab Nurses to join us in upcoming trips to Haiti, where we donate a week to 10 days of our time for an incredible experience.For more information about Healing Hands for Haiti please take a look at our website, <URL Redacted>. We are also looking for several items for our O & P lab, which are listed on our Donations page on the website.
