Subject: Request of information for a patient who have right knee and ankle
joint fusion
Dear Sir,
Hello. I am now studying a BSc. prosthetic and orthotic programme in
Hong Kong PolyU. I am now having a patient who need some orthotic management
but i am quite confuse of this.
He is a 26 male who have a right knee and right ankle joint fusion. The
patient also has a right leg length discrepancy of 45mm. He first complaint
of ankle pain and instability . But most recently he exhibits a varus
deformity at the ankle/subtalar joint, and is walking on the lateral border
of his foot.
He now need some orthotic management. I want to ask what is the
pathomechanics of this pathology. Also, what orthosis should he need?
Thank you for your help!
Yours faithfully,
Parco
