Tony-
You should know better than to talk about the 40 hour BOC course for certification. This has never been the case, but is an often repeated falsehood!.
BOC requires two years (3800 hours) of supervised on the job training providing services directly to patients (i.e., not in the back room!) plus at least two years of relevant education or study - a minimum of four years total - to be eligible to take its comprehensive certification examinations. They then have to pass its rigorous set of three examinations. If you qualify, we'll be happy to send you certification application materials.
Please see our web site www.bocusa.org for more information.

Thanks for the response and AOPA membership quidelines Jeff.
I appreciate the timely reply.
Would you know if there are any current members of AOPA whom are also Academy members i.e. indivisuals,/principals of AOPA memberships. I realize Academy members are indiviusals and AOPA members are institutions, manufacturers, suppliers, affiiate members, etc. but I was curious if many of the principals of AOPA's 1400 members are also Academy members? Are there any non profit organizations or instutions that have any of the below described educational/research memberships in AOPA?
Regarding my possible AOPA membership inquirey, since, as you know the Barr Foundation does help provide prosthetic care (about $200K in reimbursement to USA qualified (licensed or certified )sponsoring practitioners annually ) to amputees whom have no other financial resources ,do you think our organization would qualify under the affliate membership catergory?
If not, are those 40 hour optional BOC certification courses to deliver comprhensive O&P services still available in most of the unregulated states for me to possibly obtain certification credentials and then make me eligible to join AOPA ?
Thank you,
Tony
