At the same time we honor the diversity in our field, we also must recognize the differences.
If one person jumps through 29 hoops, and another person jumps through 20 hoops; no doubt they were both successful in their task and are due recognition. Now the person who jumped through 29 hoops has earned their purple credential, and the one who jumped 20 hoops has earned their orange credential.
In a rational and objective analysis, it would not be fair for the oranged credentialed person to call themselves purplely credentialed. This IS misrepresentation, and it is NOT a judgment about that person or their skills. Why can't we call a spade, a spade? The whole issue was that they had different requirements to deem them successful.
