Hi,
I have a one year old patient with congenital torticollis,
plagiocephally and several cervical vertebral malformations. The doctor
asked about possible orthotic interven-
tion. My initial thought was that bracing would not be an effective
treatment for this
child due to both the bony malformations and the fact that he is already
1 year old;
however, they have had some success with stretching exercises. He is
able to withdraw from stimuli, so that is not an issue. My obvious
question to you all is Has
anyone attempted orthotic intervention under these or similar
circumstances and if
so - was it effective or not?. I would probably use Fillauer's
torticollis orthosis if I
were to go ahead with it. Thank you in advance for any replies!
