I read allot of posts and for the most part mind my business and use this
forum as a communication and educational tool. Most will remember me from
my professionalism comments about 6 months back.

The great thing about our country and Constitution is the freedom of opinion
and speech. As a military orthotist myself I must say you have crossed the
line. As far as I know the Air Force has the only DOD technical school and
facility for Orthotics which only train Air Force personnel. The others
have been phased out. The Air Force has approximately 43 military
orthotists some which are voluntarily certified and state licensed where
necessary. This is not my drawn line just a noted point.

Here is the crossed line. (the communication part)
If you are a DOD employee you have spoken for both the US Navy and the US
Air Force. Please be advised in making military connections with political
and personal views and or values. Not only is it unprofessional it is also
punishable under the UCMJ. I advise using your chain of command and your
public affairs officer before nationally posting another personal political
opinion directly effecting the US Navy and US Air Force.

Here is another point. (the education part)
Federal installations such as bases, camps, ports, posts, VA's, etc... are
exempt from such state licensure demands and have their own credentialing
bodies and as well as regulations and guidelines.

I am not trying to come across as arrogant. As a Non Commissioned Officer
in the Us Air Force it is my duty to protect the integrity and image of the
US Air Force and it's members. It is also my duty to protect and enforce
the UCMJ. I needed to clarify a few things for our other readers which have
no military interaction so they do not get mislead nor misinformed.

Respectfully yours

James P. Cobb, SSgt, USAF
