I originally asked for some type of material to use instead of
pediplast as a toe separator....we actually used the pediplast to
somewhat dorsiflex the toes and prevent them from riding on top of each
other...it works great to reduce his tone during gait, but the pediplast
has cracked several times and we need something more durable....
Summarized responses....
1) I know where to get pediplast, I am looking for something to use
instead that is more durable.
2) Suggestion to make one out of pelite....well we played around a long
time to come up with the shape of this one, and we would like to
alginate it, then repour the mold with some type of silicone....a pelite
replacement would not work in this situation.
3) The best response was to cover the toes with saran wrap and inject
your every day silicone caulking from the hardware store. This may be
possible, but again it would not duplicate the proper shape.
4) Suggestion of a $200 tube of injectible gel from PEL...a little
pricey.
I poured up some RTV on its own, and it to was too brittle, easily
cracked in half..is there anything I can add to this to make it
stronger?
Are there any other suggestions out there? I can't believe there is not
an inexpensive silicone out there that would do the trick. Any help
apprecitated.
