OPAF's first visit to DC's Hospital for Sick Children was a great success.
Made possible through our partnership with the District of Columbia Jewish
Community Center (DCJCC), the day of activities included arts and crafts and
a game of basketball that would have lasted much longer were it not for
rain. All in all, the half dozen volunteers helped to bring big smiles to
the faces of children who are benefiting from assistive technology and to
their visiting family members. We hope to have pictures available on the web
soon.
An overview of the OPAF-DCJCC partnership, including brief profiles of some
of the children we are serving, will appear in a future OPAF Matters, our
monthly column in the O&P Almanac. In the meantime, please visit
<URL Redacted> for details and the program schedule.
Growth of the Fund and its programs depends on the generosity of every
individual within and beyond the O&P community who shares our commitment to
enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. We are always
looking to expand our community initiatives through new partnerships and
programs, both here in DC and around the United States. If you or your
organization would like to partner with us, please contact me. I would be
happy to speak with you about opportunities.
Thanks very much for your time and your consideration.
Sincerely,
Jeff
