Here are some Web sites that can serve as starting points for your
search:
The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) maintains a Virtual Library, in
which you can find an entire section dedicated to adaptive devices:
<URL Redacted>
This section contains links internet sites dealing with adaptive devices
and assistive technology, catalogs, and online versions of articles
published in the ACA's bimonthly magazine inMotion. This might be a good
point to start you search for information on specific assistive devices.
There is also the Center for Accessible Technology. They do not sell
books but maintain a regular newsletter you can subscribe to. Their Web
site is
<URL Redacted>
You can also check with the National Center on Physical Activity and
Disability at www.ncpad.org. They have a lot of information regarding
assistive technology in the field of physical activity and recreation.
Last but not least, there is Closing the Gap. Computer Technology in
Special Education and Rehabilitation. I am not sure how well this suits
your needs, but this bi-monthly journal discusses the newest computer
related products for children and adults with special needs. You can
read more about the journal and/or order it at www.closingthegap.com
I hope this helps.
