Dear List - Thanks for the responses to my query. First I need to define my
original problem so that those who wanted to know how tall is a bilateral
lower extremity amputee can rest easy.(answer: as tall as they want to be).
My patient is a bilateral Symes so her height can be quickly approximated.
One response from <Email Address Redacted> covered all the bases for foot and height
and it is quick and easy. He credited the old German prosties. His formula
is: 1 1/2 times the length from the bend in the wrist to the tip of the
middle finger equals foot length. Overall height is equal to the distance
between middle finger tips of arms outstretched to their sides.
Once again, thanks to all.
