Dear List,
I have an AK patient interested in returning to the sport of scuba diving. He saw a special on TLC where a bilateral AK/BK was scuba diving. He was fit by Kevin Carroll at Hanger. I viewed the tape but could not make out the componentry on the AK. I'm pretty sure the patient is using an Active Ankle but it is the knee componentry and settings that I'm more interested in. From the video it seems as though knee flexion is limited. This makes sense because if the knee is free it would go into excessive flexion and subsequently little stroke power. I have always thought that adding a fin directly to the AK socket would be the most efficient. What do you think? I will post replies.
