On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Orthotic and Prosthetic
Assistance Fund (OPAF), I am pleased to announce the launch of the new OPAF
web site and logo at www.opfund.org

Dedicated initially to providing financial and in-kind support to the 1996
Paralympics, the Fund now generates its own initiatives through partnerships
with individuals, organizations, and institutions engaged in:

- raising public awareness of disability, and
- improving the quality of rehabilitation medicine, science, and technology.

The Fund aims primarily to enable individuals with physical disabilities -
especially those served by members of the orthotics and prosthetics
community - to enjoy the rewards of personal achievement, physical fitness,
and social interaction.

In achieving this goal, the Fund also seeks to:

- raise public awareness of the contributions of physical activity,
orthotics, and prosthetics to the lives of individuals with disabilities;

- facilitate continuing education programs for allied-health professionals
who serve as members of the rehabilitation team; and

- coordinate in-kind support for future Paralympic games, chiefly by
ensuring that orthotists and prosthetists certified under the American Board
for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC) are available to
American athletes during competitions.

Since 1996, the core operations and programs of the Fund have been made
possible through generous contributions from the American Academy of
Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP), American Board for Certification in
Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC), and American Orthotic and Prosthetic
Association (AOPA).

The Fund's logo reflects recognition and appreciation of this history and
longstanding support. Three stars - representing AAOP, ABC, and AOPA - crown
the main star, which represents the individuals served by the Fund. The two
stars flanking the main star represent the allied fields of orthotics and
prosthetics.

A final and important note: OANDP.COM hosts the Fund's new site. The OPAF
board of directors and staff are deeply grateful for this support. Thank
you.

We hope you find our new web site informative.

Please contact me, or my colleague Tamara Bibby, OPAF Program Coordinator
(tel 571.431.0831 or <Email Address Redacted> ) if you have any questions about the
Fund and its mission.

Sincerely and with all best wishes,

Jeff Reznick
