Hi everyone,
this is my husband's listserve, but I'd like to take advantage for a moment of the connections.
I am a physical therapist on Long Island, NY. I have a wonderfully motivated transtibial patient who would be a GREAT ambulator...if he could get a leg. He is originally from China and has come to the US via Nicaragua, so he only speaks Spanish and Chinese. Also, he is not a citizen and is not eligible for Medicare. His syblings have always provided for him as far as medications, but have recently been out of work. The cost of a prosthesis is simply out of range for them. He is being discharged home tomorrow, and I promised his sister-in-law I would ask for information on foundations and organizations that might be able to help them. Any responses this evening would be sooooo greatly appreciated by myself and the family.
thank you,
sguzman
