Mr Prusakowski,
I cannot respond to your question directly regarding the type of
material that you are asking for. We have tried to use the silicone from an
alpha liner before. The portions that we cut off of the proximal section are
kept for rainy days. We have used this as a cutout similar to a heel spur
cutout pad. We fabricated it between two layers with the second layer
accomodating for it with actual hole in the cork or crepe, etc. This isn't
too clear but if you want more details, I can provide them to you. Also, if
the patient can't tolerate weight bearing you might consider a PTB type
orthosis with shank and locked ankle. I know this is more than you asked for
but may be the right ticket if patient will tolerate it. Hope this helps
some.
