I would like to introduce myself and our new educational program to each of
you. In April 2001 Oklahoma State University began a new program to provide
more educated O& P professionals to our industry. The degree program will
provide graduates with an Associate degree in orthotics or prosthetics from
OSU/Okmulgee. Upon completion of this program and one year work experience
the candidates will be eligible to take the A.B.C. Registered Associate
exam. This delineation is a revised version of the older assistant
delineation, which gives the new position more responsibilities but still
requires that they practice under the supervision of an A.B.C. certified
practitioner. All of this is still contingent on OSU receiving
accreditation from N.C.O.P.E. We have made application and are currently
completing the self study procedure. I could bore you all endlessly with
details as I am very excited and proud of my school but I will try to keep
this introduction short .I would like to invite as much help as you are
willing to offer. Please feel free to contact me any time I would
appreciate any constructive input. I can be reached at 918-293-5320 or
<Email Address Redacted> I look forward to the future.
