Below are the responses for the following post: Dear List,
This topic was discussed not that long ago. However I would appreciste it, if
you could share some thoughts about the following:
I have presently a liability insurance with JLT (by Atlantic Mutual), as most
of O@P practices. Recently I was approached by Cailor Flemming agency (I
believe they underwrite through Northland). They quoted the rate for exactly
same sales figures and coverage (3 mil aggregate (NY)) exactly 40% lower than
JLT. Is anybody familiar with their services or even better with the way they
handle claims, or they are too new on the market? I also don't understand how
rates can be so different, insurance business is as competitive as any other
industry. Your thoughts?
***I was with Hartford Insurance Co. for over two years before just signing
with Cailor Fleming agency. Looks like they have done their homework and are
the same rate as my previous Insurance just about 7% higher which probibly
would be the rate increase anyway. No track record yet since I have a pretty
clear slate. Hope it stays that way.
***We have been insured through Cailor Fleming for 6 years. Their service is
outstanding. They have less overhead, don't pay referrals to AOPA and shop for
the best insurers. They insure most POINT facilities.
***Your experience was different from mine. Their quote to me was the same as
JLT.I was impressed with their service. They may share with you who some of
their clients are.
***I am also interested in switching from JLT they are raising me 10-15%,
please let me know some other places to call and what you find out
Thanks
***Our company is in Ohio, we've been using Cailor Fleming for about 4 years
now and have been very happy! When we first told Atlantic Mutual that we were
dropping them, they called and asked all the usual questions. They came back a
day later and told us that if we stayed with them they would match the Cailor
Fleming quote, my response to them was if you can match this quote now, why
didn't you do it years ago. We figured Atlantic Mutual screwed us long enough
and gave our business to Cailor, and have been happy since. Give them a try,
they're good people.
***We recently converted from Atlantic Mutual (Jardine) to Cailor Fleming, who
realized substantial (35%) savings for us on both liability and workers comp.
I asked for and received several references who had been using CF for
several years. In all cases, the report was positive to glowing. AM has
enjoyed a near-monopoly in the o&p industry for a long while, and apparently
their rates have gotten out of line as a result.
***Just to let you know we also recently switched our practice liability
insurance from Atlantic Mutual to Cailor Flemming and realized at least a 40%
savings. They are located in a city near us, so we' ve met with them
personally on several occasions, and were impressed with the way they do
business. We also just switched our staff's health insurance to a company
through them, and again, for the same company, got quite a savings in
premiums. Not sure how companies do this, but I do understand that the agent
can tack on whatever they want to the base premium quoted from the agencies.
That would be gravy to them. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Cailor Flemming
at all.
