Thanks Anita,
Please reply with your full name, any credentials you would like next to your name and the city and state in which you are located.
WE would love you to actually attend but, at this point the rally of support is more important. ACA should not to ignore the numerous requests from amputees and professionals to not schedule a Advocacy Workshop.
We are attempting to work within the present infrastructure of a national organization to reform the present system of inadequate prosthetic coverage and quality care.
I don't know of any other issue that has been so strongly supported from both the profession and consumer.
If advocacy is a fundamental principal of the ACA , as stated in their mission statement and Section 10 ADVOCACY
of the ACA Member Support Group Manual, the leadership will accommodate the request and schedule the workshop.
If ACA elects not to listen to the numerous individual/professional members and others outside of their membership, they may have their own agenda and alternative strategies of supporting advocacy outside of their organization's responsibility to, reach out to people with limb loss and to advocate on their behalf should be considered.
Never underestimate the power of support.
