Al,

I do not have any time studies, however, I do not agree with your time
reduction philosophy. The components of today are not just off the shelf,
they still require the same, if not more, technical time to align, fit, and
adjust. Todays knees, ankles, and feet are far more complex than that of the
1970's endoskeletal systems. Anyone who fits patients on a daily basis will
tell you that.As for cad/cam, it simply creates a check socket. Cad systems
do not vacuum form, laminate, align, fit, shape, or bill. The last I knew
they only created check sockets. For the record I own and utilize both
Biosculptor and Tracer cad systems. Thier is time saving in check socket
creation, although I feel it is minimal. I believe given todays complex
components, and the time required to fit, production time has not gone down
at all! However, I do think that clinical time with the patient has
increased dramatically!
