There is a gentleman identifying himself as Chris Wilkerson and presenting
himself as a recent graduate of a graduate business school and interested in
going into the prosthetic and orthotic field. He set up an appointment to
talk to me and ask some questions -- seemed to me to be the same as I have
discussed with many people over the years. Again, I am interested in
providing prospective to anyone interested in entering the practice of
orthotics and prosthetics.
However, with this gentleman, we were only a few questions into his list
when it became obvious that his interest was business - not the practice.
His business question bordered on the edge of proprietary information and
when I began questioning him, he admitted that possibly he had mislead me
and that his interest was business and whether he wanted to enter the
business of O&P. This type of information was not information I was
interested in providing him and closed off the conversation.
Caution: He told me that he had talked to a number of people in the field
and that he had several others lined up to talk to. Apparently he is
obtaining his contacts through the ListServ. I would suggest that anyone
talking to this gentleman, first determine just what he is looking for. His
list of questions seemed to be right out of business graduate school.
Provide any information you want but be sure you want to provide it before
doing so.
