Good day--

As this list seems oriented more toward professional
prosthetists and orthotists, please advise me if my posting
this as a patient is inappropriate, but I'd be tremendously
thankful for any help with this issue.

I'm a right leg BKA for 18 years now. I'm an active
racewalker/jogger. A few years ago I had a very good leg
made with a Flexfoot and a TEC liner. But it's largely sat
useless in my closet because every time I start jogging,
within 5-10 minutes enough sweat on my thigh makes the
outer sheath slip down, exposing the TEC liner to air and
too much prosthetic flatulence.

I've shaved the thigh area, applied antiperspirant all
around, just tried buying a new neoprene sheath, and
nothing so far seems to keep the outer protective sheath
up. I tried resolving this a few years ago and never got any
workable solutions. I'm asking this again now in hopes that
someone will have had more experience with this issue.

(Meanwhile, BTW,I walk/jog in a P-lite liner and wool socks,
common socket, Springlite foot. I've done 27 marathons so
far like this, lately clocking about 6:10 to 6:45. This October
7 I *aim* to break 6:00 in the Chicago Marathon.)

Any suggestions on saving this otherwise very good
prosthesis from being totally useless?

Many thanks,

Chuck Bryant
