I think everyone in patient care at one time or another questions the
integrity of their professional peers. I don't think that means however,
that you should become disillusioned with the group as a whole. Like all
aspects of life we can only be responsible for our own patient care, and
hopefully be proud of the level of patient care your company provides.
I think it would be wrong not to recognize that the overwhelming majority of
patients that receive care are treated by quality practitioners with patient
care being the focus and NOT the almighty dollar. It may just appear to be
one sided. You also need to recognize current economic times demand that we
focus on financial concerns as responsible professionals. Also, when
providing quality care, the financial rewards will follow.

And by the way, if anyone were to tell me I couldn't be an orthotist, I'd go
kicking and screaming. I love it today as much as 20 years ago. Hopefully,
you can echo those sentiments and if it isn't your passion then find out
what it is and move on. Best Wishes.
