Attention all Florida VR providers . This is important information
concerning your business arrangements if you are a current provider or
intend to do business with VR in Florida into the future. Check out their
web page for scheduled meetings in your area to become Approved Service
Partners.
Within the last two years VR has been going through some changes to say the
least. The department was moved from the Florida Department of Labor to the
Florida Department of education under OAOC. The VR OAOC is currently looking
at the way services are being provided and they are trying to reduce their
costs and improve efficiency. Although I have not been told that they will
competitively bid out services it has been rumored. I encourage all
providers to give input to VR OAOC through their web page in the comments
section concerning the dangers to patient care regarding competitively
bidding out O and P care.

Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS)is providing a framework whereby
each Approved Service Partner providing service to VRS customers will be
either certified or licensed, according to criteria contained in the Vendor
Qualifications manual. Those currently providing services to customers will
be allowed to continue to provide that service for up to one year, but no
new customers will be referred to that provider unless they are on the list
of Approved Service Partners.
To become an approved partner you must make application according to the
details contained in the Vendor Qualifications manual available on the VRS
web site at <URL Redacted> < <URL Redacted>> .
If you have questions, please call, toll free in Florida, 1/866/515-3692.

' I have a question regarding who is going to be providers through out the
state. Is the OAOC going to ask for the suppliers to competively bid their
services ? or are the existing approved suppliers or newly certified
provides automatically providers? Please let me know what the process is
going to be.
