Hello Chuck Bryant,

Read UR messages on O&P List as well SJU amputee list.
My suggestion have been mentioned below, BUT first consult you CP for
his/her opinion.

I would just like to tell U my past experiences on
Sweat. as I have mastered to design my limb
when various QUALIFIED here and from abroad failed to improve my
restricted mobility and insisted me to undergo corrective surgery,
suffering for three
decades, as the shape of my stump had confused them exactly like
leaning tower of PISA.

Rarely vast experience sometimes overrides qualification, when thing have
to be solved under
compulsion, irrespective of cost factor. Also known as Necessity is Mother
of Invention…

Yes indeed, I have solved my own chronic problems for the past five years,
my own way by designing and fabricating prosthetic hardware the way that
best suited me.

During my past research I had over come excessive sweat by fitting a very
high speed low current 3Volts
Swiss made mini motor with a unique fan blade in my then exoskeletal PTB
strap type prosthesis.

There are some of the important factors that could lead to excessive heat
build up leading to sweating.and
painful skin sores/lesion.

1) Incorrect alignment of prosthesis
2) Incorrect Prosthetic hardware selection, which includes liners/foam
materials of certain material that itself build
heat due to constant tight contact/friction with the skin,
Inappropriate flexibility of prosthetic foot.

Try experimenting by using simple componentry like wearing a
cotton socks which
resemble similar to towel material,. I am sure UR prosthesis is modular
endoskeletal type, recheck the above
two points, the overall average weight of prosthetic limb PTB type
including the shoe should not exceed 1.8 KGS if U are some where around 80
Kgs or below.

If U need further info., do share, privately or to the list

Best Wishes
