Hey everybody...
Here's the summary of responses for my AK stubbies post. Got several good answers...
I tried to format this e-mail so it would be nice and clear.... if it doesn't come out nice, somebody let me know and I'll re-do it. For some reason, my own post doesn't show up on the list posts I receive each day. Thanks to everyone who responded.

Stubbie Feet are available from the New Generation, 800-327-3036.
They are rocker bottom and accept a 4 hole pattern on top that allow you to
connect a USMC 4 hole pyramid. You can mount it in two positions to fine tune
stability.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Try PEL Central Fab. They can make them for you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have used the beach comber foot, and the syme foot with a symes nut. This works well and can be light weight if you want to use the Daw Gel method.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
you can make them from wood. what you want to do is follow the design of a
single axis foot but reverse the axis. to finish the sole bond crepe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Use sach feet turned backwards (toes pointing to the rear) for
additional posterior stability. If the patient falls forward, he/she
can use hands to break fall. Backward falls are not fun and are
dangerous. By turning the feet backwards, you increase stability and
decrease the chance they will fall backwards. I have done this 3 times,
using sach feet on all cases. Works well. Good Luck.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you intend to follow the original design idea you would have to create a
radius design around the hip joint and create your own rocker bottom (made
from wood, flattened a little in the mid stance section (for stable support)
and covered with some Crepe sole material for a safe basis.
I would probably instead use the Kingsley Wayfarer feet today. Nice wide
foot, good support basis and can be re-used once you grow the prosthesis in
length.
Used these feet with good succes for a quadruple amputee in Tanzania
recently. Even having no arm support (crutch etc.) or arm-related balance of
any kind, he was nice and stable on them.
The only problem is to find fitting shoes. Found tennis shoes and open
sandals only. Was no problem over there, may be different here.
