Dear Colleagues, thank you for all the excellent responses to my query. I
greatly appreciate this forum and all the clinical gurus who take time out of
their busy day to respond to questions. Hope you find these responses as
informative as I did.
Best Regards - Mark
You can use a WACKER Silicone called Elastosil P 7915 A & B. It works
wonderfull and only takes about 2 mins. to cure.
UCO International makes a 2 part silicone that works well
You might want to take a cast with the invagination opened and have a custom
liner made to accommodate it. Call Karl Fillauer and Fillauer in TN. I am
doing one now, he has had excellent results - if you think you can forego
the TEC liner for a custom silicone.
Hi there..SPS has a product called bulk silicone which is a silicone putty
that may work for you..also a company i beleive called uco makes an
injectable silicone that sets in a few mintues i have used this for distal
pads on dificult shapes and it has worked well..hope this helps..Steve
UCO makes a distal end pad material that is a 2 part premix. It takes 4-5
minutes to set-up and is pretty durable. We get ours from Cascade Orthopedic
Supply.
Fillauer, by the pound.

I had TEC make on for me for a TT patient. They made the
custom patch which the man applies and then rolls on a standard TEC liner.
Works great!
ipos offers a silicone material (medical grade) that can be adjusted in
durometer and that can be brushed on or applied with a spatula to fill any
little holes or uneven surfaces.
It is called ipocon Body Paste and can be ordered from ipos directly or
through any O&P distributor.
The material is mixed with a B component catalyst, the mixing ratio
influences the stiffness of the material.
You can reach us at 1-800-626-2612 if you have any further questions.
Mark,
Try the silicone fitting gel from Fillauer. It works fairly well depending
on how complex the invagination is. The Fillauer material will self mold a
bit as the body warms it.
Other materials that work well are Quick Sil from UCO International and
Silicone Duplicating Paste from IPOS. These materials are two part liquid
mixtures that will flow into areas creating a custom molded pad. I recommend
filling the area then rolling up the liner to compress the material into
place.
