I was recently at a meeting with the Doctor and staff at a local Medical Rehab Center when the subject of annual competency testing was raised. The Director of the program asked if all the prosthetists were full-filling their required annual competency tests. This of course was news to the prosthetists that serve this center. None of the prosthetists present were aware of the requirement including myself.
Does anyone have any experience with this requirement. If so could you share the information with me regarding this process and any list of tasks you might have. I was told that PTs, OTs, RNs, and assistants have to go through this regularly. It appears to be a requirement by either JCHACO or CARF. The Director mentioned that this was in addition to any certifications or licenses.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
