Overview of Gait Analysis for
Orthotists and Prosthetists
Advanced Training Course - 21 PCE Credits

The Academy is proud to announce its first Advanced Training Course.
This three-day intense program, will focus on the Fundamentals of Gait
Analysis, Prosthetic Gait Analysis, and Orthotic Gait Analysis. You will
explore techniques and practical tools that can be applied immediately
in the workplace. Join us for this intensive and collaborative forum
and learn from the best!
Faculty to include:

Mark L. Edwards CP
Director of Prosthetics Education, Northwestern University Medical
School, Past President of the Midwest Chapter of the Academy, Has
lectured widely and published several articles on prosthetic topics.
Received Outstanding Educator Award from AAOP in 1996.

Bryan S. Malas CO
Director of Orthotics Education, Northwestern University Medical School.
Currently President of the Midwest Chapter of the Academy.

Magrit-Regula Meier PhD
Currently Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Prosthetic Research Laboratory of
Northwestern University Medical School, practiced as a Swiss CPO at the
Balgrist Orthopaedic University Clinic. Has published and lectured on
gait analysis.

Rebecca Stine MS
Earned a Masters degree in biomechanics and has worked as an
Applications, engineer for Motion Analysis Corporation. Has lectured and
published on a variety of gait and biomechanics topics.

Steven A. Gard PhD
Doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering, research Assistant Professor
in Department of PM&R at NU Medical School, Director, VA Motion Analysis
Research Laboratory in Chicago. Has published and lectured widely on
prosthetic components and prosthetic gait.

Dudley S. Childress PhD
Professor of PM&R and Biomedical Engineering, Senior Rehabilitation
Research Scientist and Director of Prosthetics Research Laboratory,
Fellow of ISPO and Honorary Academy member, noted author & lecturer and
internationally renowned expert in prosthetic and orthotic research and
development

Stephania Fatone PhD
Practiced as an Australian CPO in Melbourne at the Caulfield General
Medical Center, Earned a doctorate in P&O from LaTrobe University,
currently Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Prosthetic Research Laboratory of
Northwestern University Medical School. Has lectured and published on
prosthetic gait with an emphasis on Proximal
Focal Femoral Deficiency [PFFD]

Dr. Perry's text titled Gait Analysis will be provided as part of the
course materials. There will be required readings from this text each
night as well as written examinations on selected material.
