One more response I received:
I owe you more than one. This morning, I made
a house call to see a transtibial amputee who also needed a pressure
relieving AFO that was prescribed at a local clinic. I certainly inquired
and learned that the patient had Medicare buy him the really nice electric
wheelchair he came into the room with. Further discussion with the patient
and daughter allowed me to decline providing services after the patient and
daughter refused to sign a Medicare waiver (prior notice that Medicare may
not allow certain items). As we were prepared to accept assignment, this
certainly saved my employer many dollars. Thanks again for the warning. Ed
