Thank you to all who replied. Here is a summary of responses to my questions
about F.O. digitizers and carvers. Hope you find the info helpful. If there
are any other ideas please feel free to email me.
Thank you again,
Chris Fairman C.O.
We bought capod's freescan and insole carving machine a few months ago. We
do orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics so we could justify spending the
time and money to use the system. We were familiar with using cad cam since
we had a biosculptor system for 5 years.
We have 4 pedorthist on staff with two pedorthic techs. In one month of
introducing the capod system we have totally revolutionized our pedorthic
practice. we have increased sales by 20%, reduced our tech staff in half,
decreased delivery time, reduced recheck time, and decrease cost of
production tremendously. I truly believe that by the end of the year we will
be able to deliver twice as many f.o.'s per month then we do now and have far
superior results and satisfaction from our patients. Our system was expensive
$45000.00 for the mill and $40000.00 for the free scan but once again due to
the dual use of the freescan for orthotics and pedorthics both the freescan
and the mill will pay for itself in about 2 years.
I looked at amfit but wanted more abilities then that system had to offer.

Chris,
We use to use the Footmax system, but found that it was essentially a lot of
dress up
for the same old orthotic. We are now using the Sole Supports system out of
Bon Aqua,
Tennesse. They are trully Custom orthotics and the technique is
reproducable every
time. Dr. Edward Glaser is the founder and he is a podiatrist. We have had
very good
results with them. If you would like more information please email me and I
will get
you more info.
Thanks

Chris,
I'm also interested in this. Could I ask you to forward your replies to me.
We make a carbon fiber prepreg. U.C.B.L. hybrid.. In the fabrication process
we require 100 lbs. of pressure to squeeze the material. We also require
some padded section within the device. Obviously, I need to carve the
modified cast in a two part process.

We used FootMaxx for a while until they took the unit back for
underutilization. We did have a few returns.
We are having an inservice later today from a company that uses a scanner to
digitize the feet. I'm skeptical, but I'll give her your E mail address.
