The waiting is over for Illinois' orthotists, prosthetists, and
pedorthists. The Illinois Orthotic, Prosthetic, & Pedorthic Practice
Act (licensure law) which was signed into law in August of 1999 is
finally up and running. After Jan. 1, 2002, you must have a license to
practice O&P or Ped in Illinois. The Illinois Department of
Professional Regulation in now accepting applications. Visit the
Department's web site at < <URL Redacted>> to
down load or view copies of the Practice Act, Rules, and Application
package. There is also a e-mail link to Mr. Kim Scott the Board
Liaison.
