US POLITICS: Academy 2001 Election
Text:
Fellow Academicians:
Recently you should have received your 2001 BALLOT identifying the slate of
Officers and Directors approved by those in attendance at the recent Annual
Membership Meeting in Dallas, Texas.
As a Past-President of the Academy, I would like to offer my full support for
this excellent slate of nominees and encourage you to exercise you voting
privilege as a member by taking the time to vote. Your right to vote in this
election is the single most influential privilege and opportunity you have to
effect the future and direction of your profession and it's leadership!
(Ballots must be postmarked no later than Friday, June 1, 2001)
I would also encourage those of you with a desire to become active in the
national affairs of your profession to visit the Academy's Internet Site and
review the activities of the various Councils and Sup-Committees addressing a
wide-range of national issues effecting our profession, its future and yours.
If you have a specific area of professional interest in any of the Councils
or Sub-Committees, I would encourage you to get involved by contacting any of
the current Officers or Directors to make you interests known. The Academy
is always looking for individuals to assist in its initiatives and fresh
ideas.
The Academy is the preeminent O&P professional society in the US that clearly
attempts to look out for the professional needs of our profession and its ABC
credentialed practitioners, with sincere focus on what will benefit the
individuals who need our care.
If you're not a member of the Academy, you need to seriously consider joining
the Academy and support the profession that supports you!
With my sincerest professional regards,
John N. Billock, CPO, FAAOP
