Check out the following company. We have used 3 or 4 different companies for
cast saw repair over the years and I've found these folks to be the
cheapest, fastest, and highest quality. They even went so far as to repaint
the framework on the saw I had repaired!

Cast Room Systems, INC.

I use a local small appliance repair shop here in town. Much less expensive
than Stryker! FYI, I purchase broken/used saws through a local used medical
supply house and have them rebuilt by the appliance repair store. The most
I have ever spent on repairs/rebuilding was around $100!

Funny how they (stryker saws) have a way of finding the switch when they
fall.

You can send them back to stryker and they will service them or you can
ask your local hospital orthopedic technitian where they have their saws
serviced. Just a switch is an easy fix though, if it is an older saw you
may even be able to silver solder the switch back together.

How about Stryker 1-800-253-3210

Cascade has a person that repairs saw and unlike striker he charges by the
job not a flat rate for refurbusing. I sent two too them one came to $38.00
the other was a couple of hundrend. still cheaper them striker.

M-Pact does repairs on most makes of cast cutters at a
reasonable price

Forget Stryker. They are expensive to buy and expensive to repair. I
purchased a Fein Multimaster Sander which is available in a very nice
carrying case, is approximately the same size as a Stryker, accepts Stryker
blades, has a variable speed control feature, is very quiet, very reliable
and only costs $179.95. I will be buying an additional one in the near
future. It's only negative point is that it must be held in a slightly
different manner than the Stryker, but I have had no difficulty adapting my
grip or removing any casts.

Paul, If you get any better suggestions than what I have found over the
years
please post them. It seems as though all cast cutters get repaired by the
same firm and the fee is substantial, regardless if one only believes as
simple switch is the problem. I have tried small local repair shops over the
years and it seems by the time they (the local shops) obtain the parts and
make the repairs, the final bill mimics that of the named brand shops.
Recently we have sent our Strykers to PEL and just paid what ever is billed.
I believe PEL's hands are tied on this also as I don't believe they have
much
control on the end price being charged. I don't profess to be that
knowledgeable on electric hand tool repair but cast saws sure cost an awful
lot compared to drills, saws, grinders etc.;

We handle Stryker cast saw repairs here at Cascade. Call Sheila Brose at
800-888-0865, ext 127 and she'll give you the particulars.

Paul: If you have air get a pneumatic saw. A lot less maint. Call Tribar
Orth. at 1-800-332-2844
