Hello,
my name is Tom Daniëls and I'm a Orthopaedic Technician/Physiotherapist
at the moment I'm working on a paper concerning the most valuable
level of transtibial amputation
in most cases surgeons amputate at about 12 to 15 cm. (4.3 to 6 inches)
taking in consideration the optimal bloodflow of the dorsal muscle flap in
case of the vascular patients
but why don't they amputate some cm of inches more distal (caudal)
for instance in case of young healthy patients where there will be no
expectation of distal bloodcirculationproblems
could someone please give me some more information
considering the most interesting level of below knee amputation
greetings
Tom Daniels
