I posted a question about the Coyote Summit Lock and received some
responses that indicated confusion regarding which lock I was referring
to. The Summit lock is not a pin system, but a notched strap that
attaches to a locking device on the proximal/lateral aspect of the
external surface of the socket. The responses I received were positive:
We currently have an upper extremity patient (10 yr old) who is very
active and has been unable to break it --it is not only easy to donn and
doff the device, but also assists in controlling rotation--no problems
so far--would use again.
Another response pointed out that the liner must be donned carefully to
insure that the strap lines up with the hole in the side of the socket.
I appreciate hearing any more input if some of you try this lock in the
future.
